I’m shorter/taller than average - will it still work?
Yes, the AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System isn’t an instructional set of lines that you need to work to. Instead, they offer a way of checking your body is in alignment. Use as many or as few of the lines that work for the particular pose and your body shape.
How can it help me?
With the AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System you will be able to spot and correct bad habits or poor technique that you weren't previously aware of. A quick and easy check enables you to tweak each pose to improve your practice instantly.
Do I need a teacher present to use the AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System?
You can use the yoga mats with AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System either at home or in the studio. However, they’re especially beneficial when there’s no teacher present as it allows you to check your own posture.
What lines are included in the AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System?
You’ll find a centre line, a horizontal line, centre point, reverse point and 45-degree line. You can choose to use the lines in your poses however you want; experiment during your asana practice to find the best way that works for you!
What are the 45-degree lines included for?
These offer a way of aligning your feet in the desired position for poses which aren’t perpendicular to the central line, such as warrior or triangle poses.
Is it for novices or experienced yoga practitioners?
The AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System is designed for everyone; use the lines as much or as little as you need in any pose. It may be easier to achieve the correct alignment and balance in some asanas than others, particularly if you are more experienced. The lines help you to check your pose and for more challenging practice, enable you to stay on track and in alignment even when you’re pushing your body to the max.
What types of yoga can it be used for?
The AsanaAlign™️ Alignment System works for all types of yoga, or in fact any other type of exercise such as Pilates, which requires your body to be in balance and correctly aligned. The lines are there as a visual guide for you to use in whatever way best benefits your practice.
